SUMMARY With the overview effect pretty much usable, from what I could see, I was wondering if there would be new features that could be allowed if compared to Parachute. Because of the way Parachute worked, if you had a dock from Latte set to show above maximized windows, it would allow the dock to show and be still interactible with Parachute open, allowing to launch applications from the dock. With the new overview effect, because it is not a maximized window, a feature that allows to launch applications from a plasma panel or a latte dock would need to be actually implemented instead of using a workaround. From what Michail told me for such feature to exist for Latte, support would need to come from KWin first and Vlad told me through emails that X11 is the main blocker due to some of its input handling but would it be possible? If not, what about on Wayland? To launch applications from the panel or dock on overview would give Plasma, similar features to the iPadOS's dock, Gnome's dash and things like that. Currently, although the panel is visible from overview, it cannot be interacted with. Any attempt would leave the effect. And the dock from latte is not even displayed.
