SUMMARY I don't know if this bug only affects okular, please change to the appropriate product if necessary. If the toolbar is edited, some global menu entries become `no text' and some sub-menu entries were lost. In my case, the `File', `Settings' and `Help' entries became `no text' and `Open', `Configure Toolbars', `About KDE', `About Okular', `Help', `What's this?' and `Donate' sub-menu entries were lost. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Launch okular 2. Edit toolbars 3. Voila! OBSERVED RESULT Toolbar successfully changed but menu was broken as aforesaid. EXPECTED RESULT Toolbar successfully changed and menu left untouched. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Kubuntu 20.04 KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.8 Kernel Version: 5.4.0-84-generic OS Type: 64-bit Processors: 4 × Intel® Core™ i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz Memory: 7.7 GiB of RAM ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This r/kde thread provides a workaround: rm -rf ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/okular, but some configurations were lost also. https://www.reddit.com/r/kde/comments/diotyp/okular_menu_bar_shows_no_text_after_updating_de/
Can you reproduce this all the time? i.e. even after removing the ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/okular can you make the problem happen again?
(In reply to Albert Astals Cid from comment #1) > Can you reproduce this all the time? > > i.e. even after removing the ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/okular can you make the > problem happen again? Strangely, I can't. Can you reproduce this?
No, we can’t really reproduce this. Maybe it is one specific action that needs to be added to the toolbar, but we don’t know which one. But if you can figure out how to reproduce it, or gain any other information, you may add it to Bug 395497. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 395497 ***
