Description d3coder 2021-09-18 10:11:30 UTC
SUMMARY
I have 2 monitors. Right monitor is primary.
When i open overview, windows on left monitor play animation as if they are moving to the right side,
and windows on right monitor play animation as if they are moving to the left side.
All windows disappear somewhere between left and right monitors.
I don't see search text fields.
Plasma panel does not play any animation and stays on the right monitor.
Yesterday it was working fine. I guess if i restart kwin, it might start working as expected.
X11 session.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Show overview

OBSERVED RESULT
No windows and no window search field

EXPECTED RESULT
I see windows and search field

Can also confirm on my setup: 2 monitors with 2x scale factor. The left monitor is primary.

Also, I don't think this is the same issue as Bug 443905. The problem in this issue is that there's nothing shown after activating the effect (windows seem to be animated to somewhere in between the two monitors), while in 443905 the windows are visible but there are flicking.

I believe this is resolved already. I'm on 5.24.4 and this is no longer an issue (for several weeks now).

Nate: bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447833 isn't a duplicate of this.

bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447833 is about the animation when selecting another virtual desktop when using 2 monitors! ( I just retested on master, and its still there )
