Created attachment 140377 [details] This is the issue, really. SUMMARY There is a bug in KDE Plasma 5.22.3 and 5.22.4 on both Xorg and Wayland on Linux (OpenSUSE, Arch, Neon) that is as follows: STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Set up two screens, in my case, my laptop screen is primary and my drawing tablet is secondary 2. Make or place an icon/folder on your desktop 3. Move said icon onto your secondary monitor. Right click it. The prompt will map correctly based on the screen geometry but will be on the incorrect screen. It will be on the primary monitor instead of the secondary monitor you just moved it to. Picrel is the consequence of whatever is causing this issue. OBSERVED RESULT Your prompt will be mapped on the incorrect screen. EXPECTED RESULT Your prompt should be drawn on the correct screen (the secondary monitor you moved your folder/icon to). SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: N/A macOS: N/A Linux/KDE Plasma: Arch Linux (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.84.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Problem has been reported for Xorg and Wayland on multiple distributions. (the link below wil show you) The problem has been reported for QT already: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-94778 It may be noted that the people in linkrel would like some assistance solving this issue from developers who understand Plasma and KWin.
Please do not deliberately file duplicate or unnecessary bug reports. If we already know it's a Qt issue, then we don't need another KDE bug report about it. :)
(In reply to Nate Graham from comment #1) > Please do not deliberately file duplicate or unnecessary bug reports. If we > already know it's a Qt issue, then we don't need another KDE bug report > about it. :) I apologize. It's just an odd QoL issue that I'd like to see resolved ASAP and I thought any KWin or Plasma developers who didn't know about it ought to be told about it. Thank you.

Created attachment 141303 [details] attachment-24215-0.html Thanks, Nate. One of those DUPLICATES actually *proves* that this is an UPSTREAM issue. I appreciate the confirmation. This is now objectively not a Plasma issue. the problem still persists, i am using three monitors ... a right click on a file or folder from desktop shows the context menu on a secondary screen. Operating System: EndeavourOS KDE Plasma Version: 5.22.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.86.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 Kernel Version: 5.14.5-zen1-1-zen (64-bit) Graphics Platform: X11 Processors: 8 × AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce GT 630/PCIe/SSE2
It persists because it is an upstream Qt issue and has not been fixed in Qt yet. :) See https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-94778
