Description Marcel Rupp 2021-05-07 13:34:40 UTC
SUMMARY
As of the recent stable update whenever I try to open a context menu for a file it gets opened on the first available "screen" on the left hand side.
Other programs as well as the desktop context menu itself do still work. Only file context menus are broken.

It seems like the position calculation is still correct:
A file on the top-right of Monitor 2 (RHS) will cause the context menu to open at the top-right as well but on Monitor 1 (LHS) instead of Monitor 2 (RHS).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect a second monitor
2. Have the right hand monitor be "Folder view" instead of "Desktop"
3. Try opening a file context menu (right click a file)

OBSERVED RESULT
Context menu opens on the left hand monitor but retains the correct position for the context menu relative to the display itself.

EXPECTED RESULT
Context menu opens at cursor position

Wayland or X11 or both?
Comment 3 Marcel Rupp 2021-05-08 19:05:26 UTC
I am running X11, I will ask a friend because he is running Wayland if he is experiencing the same issue

In what program?

If it's a context menu on X11 it almost certainly is not a kwin bug.
