SUMMARY

I added some comments to a pdf and then closed okular.

Okular then comes up with a dialog

"Do you want to save or discard?" Options are Yes, No, or Abort

It should be "Save/Discard/Abort" instead.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: n/a
macOS: n/a
Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian bullseye (aka Debian 11)
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.78.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

There is as similar bug found in the bugtracker, fixed in 2008:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=157467

Is this a problem which should be eventually solved in the frameworks, instead of in each app individually and apparently multiple apps need to fix the same bug?

> It should be "Save/Discard/Abort" instead.

It is that, there's something wrong in your system that makes it not work.
Comment 2 Oliver Sander 2021-04-10 10:26:02 UTC
Let me guess: You do not want "Save/Discard/Abort", but the German translation of that, right? It does work properly in English, but there is a problem with the translation.

I do see the same issue, and I remember there being a bug report about it (can't find it right now).
Comment 3 Albert Astals Cid 2021-04-10 10:29:10 UTC
It does work translated too for me (not in german).
Comment 4 Oliver Sander 2021-04-10 10:32:06 UTC
Yes, it was more subtle than simply "the buttons are wrong". Without testing again I think what happened was that the dialog was wrong when opened for the first time after program start. When opened again it was translated correctly.

Dialog Box which has the problem

I added the dialog box which shows the problem (in German)
Comment 6 Burkhard Lück 2021-04-12 03:18:15 UTC
Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS
Okular Version 1.9.3
KDE Frameworks 5.68.0
Qt 5.12.8
Plasma 5.18.5

German translation of "Save/Discard/Abort" is correct "Speichern/Verwerfen/Abbrechen"
