Created attachment 130725 [details] Add collection screenshot SUMMARY When browsing the file system via Local Collections > Add collection, the file browser only shows Pictures folder (no Desktop, Documents, etc folders are in view). My pictures are located in a different directory. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open digikam 2. Goto Settings > Configure digikam > Collections 3. Local Collections > Add Collection 4. Click on your home folder OBSERVED RESULT Only Pictures folder show up EXPECTED RESULT Needs to show all the folders in the home folder SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Linux Mint 20 Cinnamon Ubuntu based (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: KDE Frameworks Version: Qt Version: ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Go to Configure/Miscs/Appearance and turn on "Use Native file dialogs from system" option. Gilles Caulier

I turned the option but it is still the same. It shows a different type of dialog but still cannot select the folder that I want. I also tried doing Ctrl + L and manually typing the location on address bar but it won't take it.
Since the native file dialog can be displayed with you, I suspect that these are native Ubuntu / Mint packages. The behavior cannot be reproduced here. I looked in the source code, there is no error, we set an initial path but no filters. I suspect broken Qt packets from Ubuntu. Please test it with the AppImage from www.digiKam.org. Maik
Thank you guys for the help and prompt response. Like you said, it could be due to some broken packages. I tried appimage on Fedora and it didn't work. I tried again with Fedora's flathub version from the Gnome software and it's the same issue. But with the Fedora's rmp version, I can see the dialog with the folders in my Home folder.
