SUMMARY I only use the table view in digiKam and it's kind of annoying that I have to always manually switch from thumbnail view to table view. The ability to set table view as the default view would be much appreciated.

Maik, Good Q. I remember somebody reporting a bug about this a completely opposite way, if i'm not too wrong: never store the last main view mode between sessions. Right ? The Q is : what's the risk and why this specific behavior. If this is true, well, this will require another settings to customize this behavior, and of course, later 7.0.0. Gilles

I played with it a little. I don't like restoring the last view. If the last view was the preview, the last item should also be restored. Maybe a simple option in the setting to only switch between the icon view and table. Maik
