Desktop screenshot showing incorrect launcher position.

SUMMARY
After having recently reinstalled Manjaro, the application launcher has started appearing in the wrong corner. This was never the case before.
This bug occurs reliably after a system restart, and ceases after restarting plasmashell.
The panel is (to my knowledge) unmodified, except for having enabled auto-hide.
I am running a vertical dual monitor setup.

Another thing to note: The system suffers from instability with the nvidia driver, so the compositor tab in system settings shows that the fallback to non-OpenGL compositing is activated.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Appears initially upon every reboot.
Can be fixed by restarting plasmashell.

OBSERVED RESULT
The application launcher always appears in the upper left corner after rebooting the system.

EXPECTED RESULT
The application launcher should appear in the lower left corner, as it does after restarting plasmashell.

Audio volume tray wrong placement.

Further testing seems to confirm that the dual monitor setup is triggering the bug.

The dual monitor setup in combination with any driver (nvidia 440.82/ 435.21, noveau) is still suffering from the issue.

When unplugging the second (upper, smaller) monitor and rebooting the system, the menu returns to normal.

Additionally this bug does not just affect the application launcher as can be seen in the additional screenshots.
This changes the scope, and I am not sure which component the bug directly applies to.

Looks like the same as Bug 423101, but for Kickoff. That person is using 2.0 scaling and a 4k screen.

Are you using a high DPI screen?
Comment 4 Leon Teichroeb 2020-06-25 10:01:22 UTC
My display setup:

Global scale: 1.0
Resolution: 3440x1440 @ 75 Hz
Forced font DPI: 110

The second monitor runs at a standard 1920x1080 @ 60 Hz

The issue does not appear with the high-res monitor alone.
