Created attachment 128639 [details] About System screenprint since it won't let me copy & paste info here. SUMMARY When running Discover, messages appear far too briefly to be read, forget about acting on them. I'm getting some kind of security message from discover that says something about the servers it's going to are incorrectly configured, or not released yet, or something like that. I'd like to tell you exactly, but it flashes by too quickly to select & copy to clipboard. There appears to be no method for recalling and reviewing the messages, either. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Discover 2. Wait and watch while it checks for updates 3. Watch the messages flash by. OBSERVED RESULT about 3 lines of messages relating to "Bionic" something or other go by. EXPECTED RESULT The ability to read the fricken message and copy it to clipboard for sending in to you guys or posting to forums for support (as indicated) Also, the ability to recall a message after it displays wouldn't be too much to ask for, would it? SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: NOPE macOS: NOPE Linux/KDE Plasma: Not sure where to get version info Kubuntu 18.04, if that's what this means. (available in About System) <<< About system doesn't allow copy/paste either. KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.9 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0 Qt Version: 5.9.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This system also has the Qt version 5.9.5. Developer's environment, libraries, etc. and multiple versions of gcc.
Sorry about the snarkiness. I just came across this *again* at a moment in time when "Late" had become "Early" and was unfortunately uncaffienated.
I understand it might be frustrating. We have done quite a bit of work over the last two years to improve this problem, I would suggest you upgrade and hopefully some of these issues will be gone, note that 5.12 was first release in Feb 2018. A way to see these error messages to act on them without much fuss would be to run Discover from a terminal as they're printed there as well.
