SUMMARY
Hi,

I don't know how to explain it very well, better see the image attached.
It seems alt tab app switches ( like breeze, grid ) show the visual keyboard behind it. Its clickable and works too !

In the image, I am using the grid "task switch". But it happens on breeze too.

I am using opensuse daily git packages.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Comment 2 Alexandre Pereira 2020-05-24 13:44:44 UTC
i think this is related to qt 5.15.rc* that i was using on opensuse git packages

using qt 5.14.1 with kde plasma 5.19 beta no longer shows the "virtual keyboard"
Comment 3 Rainer Finke 2020-05-31 08:13:29 UTC
I've noticed this issue as well with the official release of Qt 5.15 and Plasma 5.19 Beta. Changing the task switcher didn't help.

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.90
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0
Qt Version: 5.15.0
Kernel Version: 5.6.15-arch1-1

Yes, it looks like this bug is reproducible only with Qt 5.15.

Is this in any way related to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=419239?

Well, might/seems to be, since today I cannot reproduce this bug.

Should be be closed as fixed ? Can anyone confirm ?

Well i am testing on opensuse KDE git packages. I think might be possible also on neon or manjaro with plasma-git or gentoo with 9999 ebuilds on kde project repo

I just tested the git version compiled from source, i belive this commit or bug 419239 fixed it. No keyboard in the task switcher!

Another screenshot of the problem with a bit different layout

Adding another screenshot showing the problem on my machine, since the task switcher layout is different from the screenshot already attached. I blurred some areas for privacy.

Arch packages are only available for official releases afaik. You could either try another distro which offers more unstable packages or build yourself from source, see: https://community.kde.org/Get_Involved/development#Plasma

AFAIK there is an AUR package for kwin: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kwin-git/
