Description james 2020-04-29 15:35:17 UTC
SUMMARY
Opening the Kickoff menu with a keyboard shortcut (typically the Windows key) should have predictable behaviour. However the search functionality can be broken if your mouse happens to be in an unfortunate position.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Make sure 'Switch tabs on hover' is enabled.
2. Open kickoff menu
3. Move mouse so that it hovers over the 'computer' tab.
4. Close kickoff menu.
5. Open kickoff menu by pressing hotkey (windows key). Now start typing to search for something, for example 'Kate'. Notice that it isn't found because the kickoff menu is in 'computer' mode.

OBSERVED RESULT
Searching after opening kickoff menu searches the tab the mouse cursor happens to fall on when menu was opened.

EXPECTED RESULT
Search results should not change until the mouse is moved *after* the menu is shown.
