SUMMARY When opening a new editor, it is represented by a new tab that is added at the "beginning" of the tab bar - as the left most tab. This is very confusing as almost any tabbed interface opens new tabs at the right most of the tab bar ("end of the tab list"), with notable exception Konsole that has a configuration to open new tabs "after current tab". STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start Kate 2. Create or open another new document OBSERVED RESULT The new document is represented by a tab on the left side of the tab bar. EXPECTED RESULT The new document should be represented by a new tab on the right most end of the tab bar, or at least to the right of the last active tab. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.2 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0 Qt Version: 5.12.5 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I really expected to see some kind of configuration for this, but after reviewing the Kate configuration options I failed to find anything relevant (I think I reviewed all of them - the configuration dialog obviously can be made a bit simpler...).
