The crash happens some seconds after the red error message appears.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start kdenlive, import files
2. put files in timeline
3. kdenlive wants to autosave, but cannot create autosave-files
4. kdenlive crashes

OBSERVED RESULT
crash after minor changes in project,
working with kdenlive is impossible

EXPECTED RESULT
no crash

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Mint 19.3 Cinnamon / flatpack version

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
It is possible to save the file after changes, so that the project can be opened again. But automatic saving seems to cause the issue.

This error was unfortunately related to a bug in KDE Frameworks < 5.66
See this for reference and possible workaround:

Comment 2 Pascal 2020-02-28 11:36:45 UTC
Hello Jean-Baptiste!

Thank you for the answer.

There's written I should replace FILENAME_MAX with NAME_MAX to solve the
problem, but it is not stated in which file that should happen. E.g. In
the kdenlive project file I do not find these expressions.

Also down the page, I don't know what is meant by
src/lib/io/kautosavefile.cpp, as there is no directory "src" in my root
directory and I could not locate a file named kautosavefile.cpp.

I also don't use kde, but Cinnamon.

If you could give me a hint in what file to paste the patch, I would be
very thankful!

Best regards
Pascal Schneider
