STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a jpeg image and name it image.JPG
2. Open KolourPaint
3. Go to File, Open or use CTRL-o

OBSERVED RESULT

image.JPG is not visible in the list, even when filetype "JPEG image" is selected in the bottom right.
