SUMMARY
X11 session, my keyboard layout is brazilian portuguese

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. open system settings > workspace behavior > virtual desktop
2. try to set the name of any virtual desktop to "Edição de vídeo"
3. 

OBSERVED RESULT
it's impossible to type ã and í characters.
I can type the same characters in Kate text editor and now using my internet browser (Opera).

EXPECTED RESULT
we can type accented characters

Confirmed. In fact I can't type accented characters in any QML text field in System Settings, as you earlier reported in Bug 414501.
