Notification examples

SUMMARY
Kdeconnect notifications from the android feeder app (rss reader) can contain buttons to 'Open link in browser' and 'Mark as read'.

The 'Mark as read' button is only present in the notification if the rss item the notification relates to contains a link causing the 'Open link in browser' button to be included.

If the rss item does not contain a link, the notification does not contain a 'Mark as read' button.

Also, the button actions are transposed. For example, when you click the 'Mark as read' button, the link is opened in the browser on the phone.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the feeder app from fdroid.
2. Subscribe to an rss feed where some items contain a link, such as store.kde.org - Latest Products.
3. Pair phone and wait for notifications for items with and without a link.
4. Click on the 'Mark as read' button.

OBSERVED RESULT
Notifications for items containing a link will include both buttons. Those not containing a link will not include any buttons.

When the 'Mark as read' button is clicked the link is opened in browser on the phone.

EXPECTED RESULT
Notifications for items not containing a link should contain a 'Mark as read' button.

When the 'Mark as read' button is clicked, the item the notification relates to should be marked as read.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Comment 1 Daniel 2020-02-06 19:55:38 UTC
Actually, I think I can confirm that buttons are swapped.

That means for example, k9mail shows buttons "mark as read" and "reply". If I click on the desktop notification on "reply" the "mark as read" action is performed instead on the phone.

I can further confirm what daniel said. I've been having the same problem, with many messaging applications and also email. Mark as read and reply are switched!

Now I just press the opposite button to do what I want, but I suspect this doesn't happen to everyone, or isn't easily fixed, otherwise I imagine it would have been.

Can also confirm swapped button actions, in my case for Whatsapp notifications.

There appear to be two issues here. For the first one where a button is sometimes missing, it sounds like an issue with the app posting the notification, so I don't think there's much we can do. For the second one, it was recently fixed (see the bug which I am marking as a duplicate)

I'm confused. This bug, 416761, and 421020 are both marked as 'RESOLVED DUPLICATE' of each other. Yet, I don't see any resolution.
Has this been fixed? If so, is there a reference to the fix?

This still occurs to me that nearly every KDE Connect notification has buttons reversed, and I'm on the latest of everything, AFAIK.

Nevermind, I see this is linked to a few other bugs and supposedly resolved in one of those.
Unfortunately my distro doesn't yet seem to have this fix.
