SUMMARY My computer crashed and I have now a new computer, so I have a fresh Kubuntu 19.04 installation that I have upgraded to Kubuntu 19.10. When I try to access kio-gdrive in Dolphin and as this is fresh installation, I am asked to create new kio-gdrive account. When I sign in Google Account, I will get the following message box "Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app" and "This app has not yet been verified by Google in order to use Google Sign in" Then when I close the window, I will get the following message box: "There was an error while trying to process the request:Access grant not present" I had earlier this year the similar KMail google authenticate issue (bug 404990), but I was able to authenticate by using PLAIN authentication method and Kmail worked fine also in this new pc. I have older KDE Neon (5.17.1) installation in other pc and in that pc kio-gdrive works fine. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install new Kubuntu 19.04 and (upgrade it to 19.10) 2. Try to create new kio-gdrive account using Google account 3. OBSERVED RESULT Error message as described above. EXPECTED RESULT Kio Gdrive works as expected. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.10 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0 Qt Version: 5.12.4 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I have KWallet in use with OpenPGP secret key, but I don't know if this is related to this bug at all.
Do you have KAccounts installed? (Online Accounts page in plasma's System Settings)
Yes, I have Online Accounts page in System Settings. I tried to create an online account using google account. After I entered google user id and password, I got only blank window, titled as Web authentication for Google, as a result. No error messages.
Created attachment 124653 [details] Google denial message I can confirm that you can no longer auth kio-gdrive to gdrive in Kubuntu 19.10 and 18.04. It is clearly a decision by Google to blcok access.
Is it possibly related to: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414219
Not sure if this is the answer but there are details in this stackoverflow post on why this is happening and how to fix it. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/50509667/sign-in-with-google-temporarily-disabled-for-this-app
Same problem here. It was working in Kubuntu before formatting my HDD. Not working now I tried in Manjaro, KDE Neon and Kubuntu. Also i get some messages: "Access grant not present" "This browser or app is not safe, try another." "Sign in with Google is temporarily disabled for this app This app has not yet been verified by Google to use Google Login." and some white screens
(In reply to Eric Adams from comment #5) > Not sure if this is the answer but there are details in this stackoverflow > post on why this is happening and how to fix it. No. None of that works any more.

Are you using the KAccounts backend in Kubuntu? That error should only occur when using the qtkeychain (fallback) backend.
(In reply to Elvis Angelaccio from comment #9) > Are you using the KAccounts backend in Kubuntu? That error should only occur > when using the qtkeychain (fallback) backend. Yess, it happens on fresh installs where there is not and has never been any part of qtkeychain installled, but kaccounts-.* are installed.
I asked around and Google has put the KDE e.V. keys "under review". We need to wait unfortunately.
(In reply to Elvis Angelaccio from comment #11) > I asked around and Google has put the KDE e.V. keys "under review". We need > to wait unfortunately. That is a shame. If Google are as quick about as they are being with the ones for kmail access, then I suspect I may have to drop kio-gdrive, and perhaps online accounts in general, off the Kubuntu ISO and default install for 20.04 LTS. :(
Just adding a data point since the discussion has all been Kubuntu so far. I'm getting the same on Manjaro KDE.
I'm experiencing the same error under Arch Linux.
The worse is that I explicitly received a mail saying I was authorizing unexpected application and was surprised by the amount of authorization requested, well beyond gdrive (calendar, mail, hangout, ...) when I asked explicitly only for gdrive, so I removed authorization. Then saw kio-gdrive was not working anymore, tried to re-enable the account and failed.
Same issue https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=415696 A couple of days ago came the update "kaccounts" and "qml-module-org-kde-kaccounts". But this update has not changed anything.

I can confirm, that this bug also affects other distributions, both Leap 15.1 and Tumbleweed have this bug with authentication for kio-gdrive. A greeting.

The Google block will be fixed with kaccounts-providers 19.12.2. I'm still getting empty usernames in the KAccounts KCM *after* a successful login, but that's an unrelated issue. Let's track that in https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=414219
Still does not work for me with kaccounts-provider 19.12.2 on Arch (that includes additional patch to fix Google sing in). The message I get after entering email into sign in form is: This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can refresh your screen and try again to sign in.
I also have the same issue on arch, kaccounts-providers-19.12.3-1. After the authentication it even opens my drive folders for a while but then fails in less then 5 minutes or so, and I'm unable to see anything anymore besides the "you need yo set up authentication again" notification.
Possibly a duplicate: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420280
The same problems happend on Kubuntu 20.04. You can give in the e-mail address and the password. After it you become a blank window and it happend after 10 Minutes waiting nothing
I have same problem. Open Dolphin and get this: "Choose Online Accounts from the user menu to reinstate access to this account."
Kubuntu 20.04 ships 19.12 version of KAccounts; setting version information correctly.
Yesssss!!!!!!!, it is working!!!
The same problem in KDE Neon 5.18 KDE 5.70.0 / Plasma 5.18.5 kio-gdrive 1.3.0-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build14 kaccounts-providers 4:20.04.1-0xneon+18.04+bionic+build39
Same issue in KDE Neon 5.18.5, all updates installed. Sign in not allowed to G-Drive.
now i receive the signond (8.60-3) update. fixes the problem for me. Now i can add google account. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.15.0 Kernel Version: 5.6.15-arch1-1

Created attachment 129066 [details] attachment-2563-0.html No, all updates here installed, but after signing in with google password, return says; Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app. This app has not been verified by Google in order to use Google sign in. KDE probably needs to get the app verified by Google by contacting Google. Thanks again. On Fri, Jun 5, 2020 at 4:00 AM Barry Mirtsching <bmirtsching2000@gmail.com> wrote: > I updated every day. I wrote in this bug because i had a signon error at google account after update. Created signon coredump. This has been correct by new signon version. Have you check google account permissions? Probably should you enable "App less secure". Regards

Created attachment 129069 [details] attachment-4201-0.html Sorry, but yes, I have checked Google account permissions, etc. Never had to reduce the account security in the past to allow sign on. It seems Kubuntu/Neon still have problems with google login. @anyone affected: please subscribe to https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=420280 I'm closing this ticket since the original issue has been fixed.
