Truncated labels, layout not using available space on Display and Monitor / Display Configuration page

SUMMARY

Some checkbox labels on the Display and Monitor / Display Configuration page are truncated. NOT an l10n issue, reproducible in en_US locale.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Open the Display and Monitor / Display Configuration page in systemsettings5.

OBSERVED RESULT

Truncated labels next to checkboxes. Plenty of unused space where the layout of the page could expand into but doesn't.

EXPECTED RESULT

Correct sizing of labels. Correct resizing of the whole page layout to make use of the available space, and thus to make room for the labels.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Operating System: Arch Linux
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.64.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2
Kernel Version: 5.3.12-arch1-1
OS Type: 64-bit
Processors: 8 × AMD FX(tm)-8320 Eight-Core Processor
Memory: 15,6 GiB

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

See attached annotated screenshot. I initially thought it was an issue with label widths being hardcoded for English locale and not accommodating longer translated strings in the Polish locale. However when I restarted systemsettings with LANG=en KDELANG=en LANGUAGE=en, I reproduced the problem even in the en_US locale.
Comment 1 Nate Graham 2019-11-23 23:29:27 UTC
Strange, I cannot reproduce with en_US.
Comment 2 Szczepan Hołyszewski 2020-03-29 07:38:55 UTC
I OTOH can still reliably reproduce this as of 5.18.3 in both locales. I will create a en_US user to see if the issue manifests in a fresh KDE profile. I am open to requests for logs/configs/whatever that will help debug this.
Comment 3 Szczepan Hołyszewski 2020-03-29 11:25:41 UTC
I have Noto Sans 8,5 set as the "everything" font in KDE. The truncated labels are of checkboxes and radio buttons, and it seems that the font is somewhat larger, probably 9 i.e. 8,5 rounded up. This could be an issue with half-point sizes not being consistently supported everywhere in whatever engine renders those labels.
Comment 4 Roman Gilg 2020-03-29 12:56:04 UTC
Could be an issue in Kirigami or QtQuick.Controls.
Comment 5 David Edmundson 2020-03-29 14:30:26 UTC
Please include your ~/.config/kdeglobals

OWCH. Thanks for handling the sensitive issue for me, but it seems that all attachments were deleted, not just the sensitive one. In particular the annotated screenshot demonstrating the issue is gone. I'll try to find the image or create recreate it...

Resubmitting requested kdeglobals with necessary redactions.

That didn't reveal a lot. I can't reproduce locally.

Can I have the output of "env" please

(I can't think of anything particularly sensitive in there, but do check, if you remove some lines, that's fine)

Ah, this is because you're using fractional font sizes.
