A PNG of what I see

SUMMARY
When I launch the app, I get a blank screen. All of the in app buttons still work and I can put in clips, but I can see basically nothing. The legacy app works just fine though. Edit: with both the legacy and the new app installed, I get a window in window mode, and a horrific zoom effect. buttons still work though.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Download the new app
2. Open
3. Uninstall
4. Download legacy
5. Open
6. Reinstall New app
7. Close Legacy
8. Open new app

OBSERVED RESULT
An almost blank screen or a horrible zoom/picture in picture mode thing

EXPECTED RESULT
A timeline, preview, and a place to put videos, non-zoomed

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 19.04.2 (?)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I assume you have a miss match between 2 versions.

Close Kdenlive. De-install all Kdenlive versions.

Download the standalone version 19.04.2-5 from here: https://kdenlive.org/en/download/.

If it still appear Please following this steps: https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual/Windows_Issues#Cannot_open_projects_made_with_previous_version.2C_timeline_snaps_back.2C_cannot_import_clip

It didn't Work. I completely uninstalled everything, and the problem still persists. Also, none of those bugs mentioned are what is happening to my screen.

To be honest, I never saw that before.

Do you have a Windows update before (i.e. to 19.03)?

Do you update the graphic card driver? Here the link to the Intel driver: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/en/download/28425/Intel-Driver-Support-Assistant

You can rename Kdenliveui to Kdenliveui_old in "bin\data\kxmlgui5\kdenlive" and try again.

My windows and Intel are up to date. I had deleted my app data before I tried to reinstall and got the same results.
Comment 5 emohr 2019-06-25 18:11:52 UTC
Confirmed. It seems an Intel graphics 550 issue. Which graphic card do you have?
Comment 6 emohr 2019-06-26 17:25:31 UTC
Intel graphic driver x.6890 and x.6912 seems it interferes with dbus-daemon.exe.

Installing Intel graphic driver x.6709 solves the issue. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downlo ... CH-Drivers.
Comment 7 seisers6 2019-06-27 02:05:55 UTC
I am using Intel 630 with an up-to-date driver (.6912).
Comment 8 emohr 2019-06-27 05:15:02 UTC
I downgraded and tested x.6709 successfully on my laptop. https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28731/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers

In Kdenlive it seems x.6890 and x.6912 interferes with Dbus-daemon which handle the data flow to the screen. Dbus-daemon is not maintained from Kdenlive. Or you can wait on an updated Intel driver.

Intel graphics driver X.7000 does the same thing
Comment 11 emohr 2019-08-11 08:44:57 UTC
Thank you for heads up. I added the x.7000 driver on the download and help page.
Comment 12 seisers6 2019-08-11 09:13:23 UTC
I meant it was broken too. Not sure if I made that clear...
Comment 13 emohr 2019-08-11 09:29:38 UTC
Understood, this is why I added x.7000 to the not working drivers and the user should grade down to version x.6709.
