SUMMARY Plus sign when shift copy do not reflect releasing or pressing shift when copy in one window from folder view to some folder in "Places" in right bar. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Drag file and hold mouse button 2. Move cursor above right bar in dolphin 3. Press and hold shift OBSERVED RESULT you still have plus sign on your file EXPECTED RESULT plus sign should disappear SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.56.0 Qt Version: 5.12.2 Kernel Version: 5.0.7-arch1-1-ARCH OS Type: 64-bit ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This bug is similar to this bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406364 But that bug cause data are copied instead of moved and this bug cause only bad UI, but files are correctly moved. And that bug describe copying between different windows and this bug describe copying in same window. From my observations it looks like that shift status is controlled only when crossing the border between folder view and right bar. The shift state should be controlled on every mouse move.
This is also true for Ctrl + dragging that should show a different icon. Wouldn't the best be to use the icons that correspond to moving (shift) and copying (Ctrl) in the popup that appears when you are asked whether you want to move or copy a file after DnD ?
Holding the keys is no longer needed as when the mouse is released the options menu allows you to chose the action. Please test and confirm, thanks.
