Comment 2 Rob Burness 2019-02-17 20:06:23 UTC
This worked under Linux Mint 17.3 KDE and Linux Mint 18.3 KDE but not under
KDE Neon 5.14 nor 5.15.0.

System Settings>Notifications>Plasma Workspace>login>log to a file (checked) /home/rob/log/login/login.log

Each login would add a line to the file, e.g.

System Settings>Notifications>Plasma Workspace>logout>log to a file (checked) /home/rob/log/logout/logout.log works as expected
Comment 4 Kai Uwe Broulik 2019-03-31 10:26:43 UTC
The login sound is played directly bypassing KNotifications so it can be done in a thread in case the loading of media plugins freezes/blocks startup.

Kai,
"The problem is that KNotification is not thread-safe. Until it is, this won't work."

If it will not work, I suggest you either remove the option to log to a file at login or provide a message that the option will not work until KNotification is thread safe. That way people will understand and won't be reporting bugs or duplicates.
