Hi, adding a command to run or playing a sound on login or logout does not work (Notifications, Event source: Plasma Workspace). Nothing happens. I'm on Kubuntu 15.04 with kubuntu-ppa/backports @ Kde-plasma 5.3.2
Thanks for the report This is fixed in Plasma 5.4, please update. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 335948 ***
I use Plasma 5.4.2. This bug is still here, please reopen this issue. How to reproduce : System Settings > Notification > Event source: Plasma Workspace > event login Tick Run command, put "/usr/bin/touch /tmp/xxx" in the field Run command Close & reopen your session. There is no /tmp/xxx file.
Ah, I understood the report is about sound. But you're correct, for login notifications, only sound is considered, currently nothing else gets executed. On logout, everything should work. The problem is that KNotification is not thread-safe. Until it is, this won't work.

Martin, "The problem is that KNotification is not thread-safe. Until it is, this won't work." If it will not work, I suggest you either remove the option to log to a file at login or provide a message that the option will not work until KNotification is thread safe. That way people will understand and won't be reporting bugs or duplicates.

Created attachment 121975 [details] attachment-24068-0.html Provide bug report, wait 2 months to hear it is duplicate of another bug which also has not received attention. This is a reason why people don't report bugs. I know everyone is a volunteer.
