(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kmail Version: 1.4 (using KDE 3.0.0 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: Mandrake Linux 8.2 i586 - Cooker Compiler: gcc version 2.96 20000731 (Mandrake Linux 8.2 2.96-0.76mdk) OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.18-6mdk OS/Compiler notes: If I get an gpg encrypted and signed message and choose to forward this mail the new mail dialog has the encrypted mail which is useless for the person I like to forward the mail. I think already decryted mails should keep decrypted in case of forwarding. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog)

I just want to remark that we implemented it this way on purpose. The=20 reasoning is that the original sender who sent you the message in=20 encrypted form would not be pleased if you forwarded it in unencrypted=20 form. After all he intentionally encrypted the message. Unfortunately the current implementation also makes it impossible to=20 forward the message in encrypted form. I think we'll make it possible to forward encrypted messages in=20 (re-)encrypted form. But we will not allow encrypted messages to be=20 forwarded unencrypted. Well, there is no way to prevent the user from "leaking" the original message in unecrypted form as the user can always copy & paste the message or use reply-to and change the recipient. I always use the reply-to workaround and change the message status to "forward". Being able to use forward directly would be much apreciated. Thanks - tom
There is a lot of sense to forward a decrypted message. I'm working in a small local network with about 10 users. If I get an encrypted mail and decrypt it, I would like to forward the decrypted message to some of the local users. The encryption is necessary for the transport on the internet, not for the local net. This could just be a special menu item in the context menu or something like that or a warning message could be displayed... I would like this feature and it would be just more handy than cut&paste Thanks Florian
