SUMMARY Closing a Snap application that is already running will change its icon to the default gray icon with an X instead of keeping his corresponding icon. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install a Snap from Discover , Simple Screen recorder as an example. 2. Open the application from Discover or the Application launcher. 3. Right click on the app icon on the panel and select pin. 4. Close the application. (The gray icon will appear) OBSERVED RESULT Closing a installed,pinned Snap will not retain his corresponding icon. EXPECTED RESULT Able to open and close the Snap application without the icon changing. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.53.0 Qt Version: 5.11.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION While the snap is unpinned going to the Application launcher and right clicking the snap name and selecting add to panel (widget). Will add the snap as a widget and even the pin option will be selected working as expected. Since this is a Snap not sure if is related to Bug 390817.
I can't reproduce. Operating System: Arch Linux KDE Plasma Version: 5.15.1 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 Qt Version: 5.12.1
Just retested on 5.15.1 Neon Stable it continues to happen same on unstable. Tried Kubuntu 18.10 same able to replicate on task manager mode and only icons task manager.
A lot has changed since this bug was filed. Is it still reproducible for you in Plasma 5.24 (the latest LTS version) or 5.25 (the latest version, period)?
