Description keharuan 2018-03-12 15:57:00 UTC
hello. ive added the dolphin folder icon to my panel. i wish that right clicking it would give me the option to navigate to folders such as my downloads, pictures or documents. windows has this ability and it is very useful and time saving.
ive added my browser to the panel also. right clicking it gives me the option to open new window or open new private window. i wish the file manager would also give a similar option to go to subfolders.

You can add shortcuts to Dolpin's "Places" and they will show as in the video.

You have to Pin it to your Task Manager, and then the cool menu entries will appear. You can't add it as a standalone widget. See also Bug 390817.

If by task manager you mean task bar ,then yes i have it pinned
already. As well as my browser, which gives me the options i mentioned
in my original post but the file manager doesn't

By task manager I mean Task Manager, as that's what it's called in Plasma. :)

If you aren't seeing the menu items, there are three options:
- You added Dolphin as a standalone launcher/widget, not a pinned app on your Task Manager
- You're using Plasma 5.10.x or lower
- Your distro mis-packaged things

So i clicked 'pin to task manager' instead of 'add to panel(widget) '
.this is by right-clicking the dolphin button in the popup which
appears when u click the 'start button '. Why r there 2 options to do
this?(with one being semi functional). And another major bug which i
had noticed previously was, that if u keep adding things to the panel
via ' pin to task manager', each subsequent icon in the panel becomes
smaller and smaller. Should i report this as a separate bug?

"Add to Panel" accommodates the case where you don't have a task manager. We are aiming to simplify this and only expose one option when you *do* have a Task Manager; see Bug 390817.
