If I want to raise a task using task manager and the tasks are stacked you should be able to click on the task, up pops a list of task and then you select one. If you mouse-out of the list the list hides. All well and good. Bug: to get the mouse to the list it must move out of the current task during this journey the list hides and you can't select anything. If you just mouse over the previews hover above the task (rather than above the task manager) and work as expected. Sometimes, if I'm quick I can get the mouse from task to list before it hides but it is a bit tricky. I don't recall this being a problem in older versions
Do you use focus follows mouse?
Do you use focus follows mouse? - Yes
Are you describing the same thing as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=388744 ?
I think this is likely a duplicate. I'll add that if I'm quick and the mouse is moving as I click I can have the mouse under the pop-up list before the list appears and then it works as expected but you have to be very quick! Happy for this to be marked as a dup of 388744
Thanks. I'm hoping to do something like http://bjk5.com/post/44698559168/breaking-down-amazons-mega-dropdown *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 388744 ***
That's nice but I think this problem is simpler - the previews seem to sit a few pixels lower than the dropdown so there is no gap between the taskbar and the preview. The dropdown seems to hover just above the taskbar leaving a gap of a few pixels exposing the desktop so the mouse must go taskbar:desktop:dropdown (except the as soon as it hits the desktop the dropdown vanishes). It doesn't matter what path the mouse takes it cannot avoid the desktop!
@davidedmundson: Both Kicker and Dashboard have implementations of lazy menus btw.
