Hi there this is probably the wrong KDE product to report this to - feel free to move it. Anway, I have an issue with how the right-mouse buttons works on context menus - namely that is also selects the highlighted option. E.g. in Dolphin, you press the right-mouse button and it opens up a context menu. You move up/down to select the desired option and then you usually press the left mouse button to select that option. However I noticed you can also select that option by pressing the right mouse button. Furthermore, if you keep the right mouse button pressed, move up/down the list to select the item and then you release the right mouse button, that option is also selected. This leads to a problem were often unintentionally an option is selected that isn't wanted. it only takes very few pixels horizontal movement to select the option in the context menu when click the right mouse button in dolphin. And if you press the right mouse button a tad to long, that undesired option is selected by releasing the rmb. I think the right mouse button should not be able to "click"/select an option in the context menu or have at least an option to disable such functionality. It's not only dolphin, it also happens to me quite a lot that I accidentally detach or close a tab from Konsole.
Here's a screenshot of tmux: https://images.sjau.ch/img/546ed2d3.png Movement of 1px to the right before relasing the right mouse button is sufficient to trigger the detach. However, when I have konsole at the bottom of the screen, then "Close tab" would be selected.
KWin is not responsible for context menus. That is done by the application toolkits, e.g Qt or GTK.
The issue is about mouse behaviour in the context menu. From what I can see, I can adjust (to some degree) the mouse behaviour in KDE. So this seems to be a KDE issue and not a context menu one.
This is not related to the window manager. Please do not reopen. Not even related to kde as explained in my previous comment.
Actually I need to reopen this: Qt says invalid: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-6632 In KDE 3.5 it was resolved: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=168979 So is it now a problem with KDE or Qt? Both say it's not their problem.
