1. start plasma session, open "system settings" > "Desktop behavior" 2. check/uncheck "Visual feedback for status changes", click "Apply" button 3. move your mouse wheel on audio tray icon to change the volume level and test your new setting Result: your new setting was not applied 4. restart "system settings" > "Desktop behavior" (note that the setting is not the same that you chose in the step 2) 5. repeat the steps 2 and 3 Result: your new setting was correctly applied now.

Ok, as per Nate's advice I will post the info here. This was originally intended for Bug 385791. On the matter of other reports, all Slackware users using Plasma 5.11 are reporting the issue with the kde-gtk-module. See comments at this thread: https://alien.slackbook.org/blog/october-updates-for-the-slackware-plasma5-desktop/ (I don't know how to link to individual comments to spare you the search, sorry about that. Search "gtk" and you'll find the relevant data). Thanks!
In this case, Plasma 5.11 is running under Qt 5.9.2.
We haven't gotten any new reports of this in a while. Is anyone able to reproduce this with 5.11.5 or 5.11.95 (i.e. the 5.12 beta)?
cannot reproduce on Arch Linux running plasma 5.12 beta nor on neon dev unstable.
Excellent.
As for bug 385791 (which I think was *NOT* a duplicate of this),the issue was quickly fixed. Thanks to everyone involved.
