Description Patrick Silva 2017-09-25 04:55:30 UTC
It's impossible to set a volume level beyond 100% by pressing the special keyboard key.
And after I use the slider to do it, press the keys to increase/decrease resets the volume level to 100%.

On neon dev unstable.

Again, Raise maximum volume action is local to each stream, but global shortcut uses the global settings (in applet preferences).
But in this case, it should really make more sense to use the maximum of that particular stream when changing with global shortcuts.

Also allow to adjust the volume level beyond 100% using the mouse wheel please.

It’s working here on Plasma 5.13, KDE Frameworks 5.50.

hum, on neon dev unstable the bug is still present. You must to check "Raise maximum volume" in sound applet, see the screenshot.

OK right I remember the issue now, and I will explain what’s going on.

There is actually two different settings:
- Maximum level in applet setting (you can set the maximum volume freely between 100 and 150%). Applies to all devices.
- Raise maximum volume (you can raise the volume until 150%). Applies for a particular device.

Now, besides the current bug that affects the second setting, I think the two settings are rather confusing because they work in slightly different way and I didn’t get they were doing the same thing but on a different set of devices (one or all) and with a different UI (checkbox vs numeric field) and slightly different wording (raise maximum level vs maximum level). Also, when you set the maximum volume to 150%, then «Raise maximum level» does nothing from a user point of view.

Yes, this only works when you raise the maximum volume level beyond 100% using the config window, not when using the "Raise Maximum Volume" menu item in the hamburger menu.

On Neon unstable there is "Raise maximum volume" checkbox on bottom of the plasma-pa popup and now I can set the volume level beyond 100% by pressing the special keyboard keys if it is checked.

Operating System: KDE neon Unstable Edition
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.80
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.67.0
Qt Version: 5.13.2
