When opening for example a png file and using "Save As" and choosing a different format like jpeg, name of the file is wiped out (inconvenient). After pasting the name without extension and hitting enter, gwenview shows error message about unsupported format, because it didn't add extension that was chosen on the list below. All other programs (like Krita) allow for either having name as: nameofthefile or nameofthefile.jpg. Chosen format from the list takes precedence and if not present in the name, it's added automatically. Again, this doesn't happen in Gwenview.
From feedback on Manjaro forum it might not be a general bug, because it was reported to me it works as expected, Gwenview adds extension chosen from the list even if there is no one specified in file name. At this point I have no idea why it works that way for me and how to debug it. Since it may be some local bug, it's not of a importance.

I'm continuously unable to reproduce this in any version of Gwenview that I try, despite recent bugs. Can anyone provide: 1. The version of Gwenview that shows the problem 2. Detailed steps to reproduce 3. List of file formats for which it happens (all? some? none?) 4. (desirable) a screen recording showing the issue
I made video of that bug and... I noticed a small box to check: "automatically use jpeg extension" Well, this is confusing. In many places when saving something (from browser), it tried to add incorrectly bin extension, so I turned it off and never looked twice at it. Surprisingly in Gwenview this checkbox works correctly. Or maybe some recent update fixed it? Sometimes it's hard to keep up on rolling release with all changes ;). Anyway, sorry for the confusion. You can close it as there is no bug.
Thanks!
