Created attachment 107067 [details] kra file project & video of the crash. Hello, I have got a crash when I select a zone, use the transform tool then select an other tool (Segmentation error). This crash does not appear always at the first time, it can take 10 times. My canvas is 2480 x 5000 (300 dpi). I'm running on Linux Mint 18.1 (Linux 4.11.12). OpenGL version string: 4.5.0 NVIDIA 381.22. `QLayout: Attempting to add QLayout "" to QWidget "", which already has a layout libpng warning: iCCP: too many profiles *** Error in `./krita-3.1.4-x86_64.appimage': malloc(): memory corruption (fast): 0x00000000107087ff ***` You can find a video and the .kra file in attachment. Thanks.
Can confirm that I get this bug too. It's not necessary to use the select tool at any stage---clicking the transform tool while on the empty bottom layer of a new document, moving the layer using the tool, and selecting a new tool suffices to cause the crash. My system information for bug reports is pasted below. --------------------------------------------- Krita Version: 3.3.1 OS Information Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64 Build CPU: x86_64 CPU: x86_64 Kernel Type: linux Kernel Version: 4.4.0-21-generic Pretty Productname: Linux Mint 18 Product Type: linuxmint Product Version: 18 OpenGL Info Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation Renderer: "GeForce GTX 750 Ti/PCIe/SSE2" Version: "4.5.0 NVIDIA 375.66" Shading language: 4.50 NVIDIA Requested format: QSurfaceFormat(version 3.0, options QFlags(0x4), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize -1, greenBufferSize -1, blueBufferSize -1, alphaBufferSize -1, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 0, profile 2) Current format: QSurfaceFormat(version 4.5, options QFlags(0x4), depthBufferSize 24, redBufferSize 8, greenBufferSize 8, blueBufferSize 8, alphaBufferSize 0, stencilBufferSize 8, samples -1, swapBehavior 2, swapInterval 0, profile 2) Version: 4.5 Supports deprecated functions true is OpenGL ES: false
I'm sorry, I just cannot reproduce this issue, not with 3.3 and not with git master :-( And without a gdb backtrace (which cannot be created with the appimage), it's really hard to even start guessing where the crash might be.

I have a backtrace, maybe it could help, I attached it In my case is so random when it crashes, it could take almost one hour of constant use of the transform tool, or it can happen just about 10 min, and it doesn't matter the complexity of the scene. It's pretty annoying my system, 3.3.3 also has the issue Krita Version: 4.0.0-beta1 OS Information Build ABI: x86_64-little_endian-lp64 Build CPU: x86_64 CPU: x86_64 Kernel Type: linux Kernel Version: 4.10.0-42-generic Pretty Productname: Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS Product Type: ubuntu Product Version: 16.04 OpenGL Info Vendor: ATI Technologies Inc. Can you try to get a backtrace in Krita installed from the distributions repository or ppa (don't forget to install debug symbols) I asking this because in my opinion (I am not a dev) the app-images don't have debug symbols, so it will be likely that the backtrace you shared won;t be helpful.
