Hi. The IPTC metadata (tags) are not embedded into my ORF files. Also, I cannot convert the ORF files to a JPEG-2000 format using the Batch Editor. Is there a fix for this? Cheers,
You need to enable write and read in side cars files for read-only files. Add metadata to the ORF files. Now all the metadata after conversion to JPEG-2000 files are included. Maik
Thanks for your speedy response! I tried enabling writing and reading in side car files (and to the ORF file) but this still did not make the tags visible in the file metadata. In addition, I still cannot convert my ORF files to JPEG-2000 using the batch queue editor. An error message pops up that says "Failed to process item..." in red font. After, a message pops up saying "Item processed successfully", but the file that appears in my digiKam library doesn't contain any information or image/thumbnail for my file. Any help with this is much appreciated.
Can you run digiKam from a console and report here all debug traces pronted while you try to assign tags to ORF ? Gilles Caulier
Also i recommend to use last 5.5.0 AppImage Linux bundle. AppImage do not install file on your system. It's a self contained application with all dependencies embedded. It can be used in parallel that official package for your Linux distro. Gilles Caulier

Write metadata with ExifTool backend if Exiv2 fails to process, for exemple with RAW files or Video files. Tested successfuly with a MP4 video to insert a comment. For RAW and other king of files as MPO or JPEG with more than 64kB of Exif segement, Exiv2 must be bannned to uses in cases of writting operations as files can be corrupted. This require more regression tests to validate ExifTool uses in place of Exiv2.
