Description Gregor Mi 2017-03-11 14:21:19 UTC
I today set up a new printer and noticed the following: during the setup process I was asked to give the root password *four* times (and there was no option to remember the password):

1. when I clicked add new printer
2. to complete the process (or after I selected a driver, I am not sure anymore)
3. to change it to the default printer
4. some left-over password dialog where I couldn't find out which action it was referring to (I entered the password anyway just to be sure the setup can be completed successfully)

WISH:
- It would be nice if the user must enter the password only once.
- It would be good if the root password request dialog would show for which action the password is required.

System: openSUSE Tumbleweed, Plasma 5.9.2

I'm seeing this on Opensuse Leap 42.3.

Seems to be restricted to Opensuse?

I used to get something similar on Fedora. It probably happens when CUPS is configured securely (i.e. not on Ubuntu).
