Example of 3 digit page number not fully shown

The page number of the current page is only fully shown, when it is two digits long or less. For large documents with thousands or more pages (e.g. big text books) this is inconvenient, as you cannot see the current page. Moreover you do not know, if you typed the page number in correctly, when inserting a number.
The bottom status bar is so wide, that I do not see a reason, why the page number box cannot be larger.

The box should always show the page number in full. An adjustable size would be preferred. If this is not possible, you might consider increasing the width to, lets say, 6 or 7 digits or so.
