Description Aentfs 2017-03-03 13:16:42 UTC
** Bug Description **

The calendar popup freezes after clicking on the clock when a calendar is enabled that contains a vtodo with and end date but no start date. The calendar does not freeze if the vtodo has neither a start nor end date and also doesn't freeze if both are present at the same time.

** Steps to reproduce **
1. Add a calendar to korganizer
2. Add a vtodo with an end but no start date
3. Enable the PIM Events Plugin in the calendar widget
4. Enable the calendar with the vtodo
5. Click on the clock widget
6. The calendar popup freezes

Can't figure out how to apply steps 3 and 4.

First open the Digital Clock Settings by right clicking on the clock widget, selecting 'Digital Clock Settings…'. The rest is relative from here.

For Step 3: Open the 'Calendar' side-tab and check the box 'PIM Events Plugin'.
For Step 4: Open the 'PIM Events Plugin' side-tab and check the box next to a calendar that contains the previously mentioned vtodo. You might have to expand the groups to see it.

Can reproduce this bug - after disabling start date - widget hangs causing plasma to go to black screen, or to freeze + ram is fully loaded, after enabling start date in todo event - 'Calendar' panel widget opens ok

Distribution: KDE neon Developer Edition - Stable Branches
Plasma: 5.11.4
Frameworks: 5.41.0
Qt: 5.9.3
Kernel 4.10.0-40-generic
Type: 64-bit

Re-assigning to kdepim as backtrace suggests it's a bug in the pim events plugin, not Plasma's calendar implementation

Bug 367541 has a possible patch. Tried to get it into phabricator, but did not get a reply.
