Description S. Christian Collins 2016-12-28 19:52:05 UTC
If I go into System Settings -> Printers -> Configure, any changes that I make to the default printer options are not remembered when I click "OK". The only way I can change the defaults is using CUPS directly (localhost:631).

I noticed that CUPS requires me to enter my user name and password to make these changes, whereas Plasma's printer configuration doesn't ask for my authentication. Perhaps it should?

** My System **
OS: KDE Neon 5.8.5 64-bit (Plasma Desktop 5.8.5, KDE Frameworks 5.29.0, Qt 5.7.0)
Linux Kernel: 4.4.0.57-generic
Printer: Brother HL-2280DW using the drivers from the Brother website.

On OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, selecting "Printers" immediately asks for authentication.
