When I launch kdenlive, the timeline is hanged. Kdenlive works well, but the timeline's dislay is not modified. Looks like the same as Bug 366798 (but I am not pretty sure, so I report a new one). A workaround is to resize the main window, which makes the timeline's display correct. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Launch kdenlive and try to modify the timeline 2.Resize the main kdenlive window 3. Actual Results: 1.Timeline display remains unchanged. It does not respond to the clicks 2.Timeline gets unblocked. Expected Results: The timeline should not block at the beginning.
I cannot reproduce on Kubuntu 16.04LTS using Kdenlive 16.08.1.
Benoit, we cannot reproduce; there's unfortunately almost no chance of fixing this. I suspect something in your Ubuntu setup. Which overall window theme did you install? A Gnome one or the KDE Frameworks 5 one?
I cannot reproduce this either... under gnome and kdenlive 16.08.1. Will close this when 16.08.2 is out if no response from OP. Regards
The problem still happens for me. I am using the ubuntu git-master packages.
Which distribution and version are you using? What graphics card, Intel, AMD or NVidia? How many threads have you configured for Kdenlive? Which really looks like a particular graphics driver issue, as this is the first report of such a bug reported. It's really highly specific.
I am using a nVidia card with the proprietary drivers. My distribution is Ubuntu 16.04.2 But honestly, it looks more like a GUI problem, because when I resize the window, the timeline becomes clickable and everything is fine. The workaround is to call the resize callback once the window is displayed for the first time.

Which overall window > theme did you install? A Gnome one or the KDE Frameworks 5 one? I am using Ubuntu with Unity, with all the default themes. I don't know if it answers your question.
If you think that calling the "resize callback" does solve your issue, can you please test your fix with the Kdenlive source code base on your system? The tricky thing may actually the "when" for emitting the proper signal and as you seem to have a better grasp of the Qt toolkit I would like to help us by sending in a patch that you've checked on your system and video setup to fix your issue? Thank you very much for your cooperation.
