Description mcst0rmpegasis 2016-08-15 17:42:57 UTC
I've been using this for a while but my timeline won't work at all anymore, clip monitor still works. I can't even move the cursor most of the time. If I do manage to move the cursor it does not effect the clip. Even when I turn sound or video off via the timeline nothing will happen. I should also mention it plays the clip I have selected within the project tree tab. Is there a way to fix this? Having this bug deems Kdenlive useless.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Edit or operate timeline
2. Examine functionality

Clip Monitor Functionality
(Click on desired clip first in project key tab)
1. Scroll through video time via clip monitor
2. Examine functionality

Actual Results:
Timeline deems no functionality and clip monitor tab works as usual.

Expected Results:
Timeline should work as usual

Having full functionality besides other small glitches until today. I opened up my computer, didn't update whatsoever, opened application and timeline nonfunctional.

Number of processing threads set to 1? Please supply more information, as it is hard to diagnose "I didn't do anything and this thing just stopped working suddenly". Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Which version of Kdenlive are you "Split audio and video automatically"? I cannot understand what is happening with you either? Could you please test 16.08.1 and give us some detailed feedback if issue continues?

If no response by the time 16.08.2 is out I will close this.

Thanks for your help!

I have Kdenlive Version 16.08.2 using KDE Frameworks 5.27.0 and Qt 5.7.0.

My timeline cursor cannot be moved by the cursor. I can get it to change position by clicking between the "Clip Monitor" and "Project Monitor". This does not always work though.

I find this a very frustrating and time consuming process for video editing.

This behaviour occurred only after the update to 16.08.2.

Yes I am having the same problem..Ever since I updated my Kdenlive, I can no longer use the timeline. Even when I put a clip into the timeline and play it, the tracker cursor does not move at all. In it's place is a gray tracker that shows were it should be at. Also when I try to separate the sound from the video it just removes the sound waves but you can still hear the sound.
I hope this can be fixed soon.

I think it happened when I was saving a file on my computer and the power ran out. I finally managed to resolve it by deleting all kdenlive files (I backed up the projects) and completely reinstalling.

This bug is closed. The original reporter has reported this being an installation/system issue. So please do not file new bug reports unless you have clear indications that this is a Kdenlive bug and not a distribution or system installation problem. We can't fix bugs that are neither reproducible on other systems nor installation problems. Use the forum for such issues. We ask you to help us by not unnecessarily putting load on the fevelopers with bug reports about installation problems. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Okay, I'm sorry I just commented because I thought it sounded like my problem. I just joined this site to get help and didn't know where to get help with my Kdenlive bug. I don't know what kind of bug it would be called so I commented here and then made my own report.

HI, I'm using 16.12.3, Framework 5.32.0 and I am seeing the same things as others see: time cursor does not move, not by means of mouse-wheel, not by means of arrow keys. I can reset it by deleting the kdenliverc file in my home folder but then I loose all my settings and have to set them up again.
I saw here that the error existed in 16.08 already, shame it didn't get fixed in the mean time.
