Hi, I'm not using kmail or konqueror today, so I honestly can not reproduce the error.
I do not know if the new versions will be resolved, because 2 years have passed since then.
I just remember that if I wanted to open a link automatically from an email with Kmail, the default browser (Konqueror) did not recognize it, and I was forced to copy and paste the URL.
I'm sorry, I'd like to do more to help.
