When I open a new Krita file and click on the "Set horizontal/vertical mirror mode" button the mirror axis is not in the middle of the canvas. I would also love the option to reset the mirror axis to the middle of the canvas at any time. My suggestion to fix this problem is: you click the click on the "Set horizontal/vertical mirror mode" button and it sets the mirror axis always in the middle of the painting. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open Krita and create a new file. 2. Click on the "Set horizontal/vertical mirror mode" button and move the axis a bit more to the left or right. 3. Try to reset the axis perfectly to the middle of the canvas with one click.
I've updated Krita to 2.9.11. When I'm opening a new file now the mirror axis in the middle of the canvas, perfect! It would still be great to be able to reset it at any time, in case it changed the position. Or a lock would be very helpful: Bug 363335 - Lock for the mirror tool https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363335. Thanks :).
I wanted to implement snapping for it, as that would mean you could snap it to the document center or to a guide in 3.0, but I couldn't figure out how to do that properly, in the end: https://phabricator.kde.org/D1135
Adding a reset mode would be a new feature (sorely needed, of course), so I'm setting this bug to wishlist.
In my last comment I said "When I'm opening a new file now the mirror axis in the middle of the canvas, perfect!" Today I opened a new file again and sadly both mirror axis are not in the middle of the painting.
