(*** This bug was imported into bugs.kde.org ***) Package: kview Version: 2.2 (using KDE 2.2.0 ) Severity: wishlist Installed from: RedHat RPMs Compiler: Not Specified OS: Linux OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified Right now you can only measure pixels (which is GREAT) but sometimes I'd like to be able to measure in inches if possible. I know that it could only be an approximation. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org)
Replaced tc@clark.net with null@kde.org due to bounces by reporter
centimeters and other units would be nice too
I have a high-resolution laptop screen and have configured the DPI information correctly; having Kruler offer inches/centimeters for measurement would be great.

You could use 'xrandr' to gather information on what the physical size of the screen is, and use that for this purpose. I don't know what the equivalent in Wayland maybe.

Yeah, please add real-world units as well (I know that this depends on the DPI being correct!); similarly, angles (against the horizontal or vertical resp, against another kruler) and/or areas would be quite nice.
