When filling To/Cc/Bcc for the first time (meaning before the next field for Cc appears) there are no suggestions whatsoever if the typed address is matched in Recent Addresses. I need to remove what I typed (e.g. with backspace) and then start typing again which works as expected and even people in recent addresses are found. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open new message window 2. Cursor is in "To" field so start typing a contact to which you previously sent a message Actual Results: The contact is not found until you remove what you typed and start typing again. Expected Results: Contact should be found right away It is a regression though I don't remember in which version it stopped working. But it was working fine with first versions of KF5 based kmail. I have Plasma 5.5.4, KF 5.18, KDE Apps 15.12.1, Qt 5.5.1, (KMail 5.1.1)
I updated to qt5.6 and it works fine. So I think that it was a qt bugs.
Thanks a lot for this info! :)
Unfortunately it turned out that updating to Qt 5.6 didn't help. Duplicating To / Cc field always immediately removes the dropdown menu of found contacts. I believe that's the reason why I have to remove what I typed and start to type again in order to request dropdown menu once again. That way the next To / Cc field is already created so nothing is "conflicting" with showing up found contacts menu. I have now Plasma 5.6.3, KF 5.21, KDE Apps 16.04.0, Qt 5.6, (KMail 5.2.0). Arch Linux.
This seems to be a duplicate of bug 357670
