If there are some updates available we can see icon in systray that informs us about it. If we install those updates this icon stays visible in systray until next login. There is laso other problem: if we run `apt update` command and it shows us that there are some new updates, this icon in systray still will show information that system is up to date. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Check if notifier shows icon in systray tat informs about new updates 2. Install updates 3. Icon will stay visible in systray while it should get hidden Actual Results: Notifier systray icon is visible after all updates were installed. Expected Results: Notifier icon should be hidden in systray (available in extened systray view) when there are no updates.
well i have the opposite behaviour, plasma-discover-updater is in the systray but it doesnt change its status, if i have new packages it just sits there with the green mark. and after i install them , it just keeps sitting there with the green mark looking at me.
ii muon-discover 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 all Transitional package (muon-discover -> plasma-discover) ii muon-notifier 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 all Transitional package (muon-notifier -> plasma-discover-updater) ii muon-updater 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 all Transitional package (muon-updater -> plasma-discover-updater)
ii plasma-discover-updater 5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 amd64 update manager for KDE
updating: it actually shows the packages to update, it just doesnt change the icon to the X red shield, it show the packages but maintains the green mark.
With latest updates to Plasma 5.5.3, it not only stays in the systray, it also stays red although all updates have been done. When I click it, it says there are updates, but as soon as I click "update" it reports that everything is up-to-date. But it doesn't hide, and it stays red now. $ apt-cache policy muon-updater muon-updater: Installed: 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 Candidate: 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 Version table: *** 4:5.5.3a-0ubuntu1~ubuntu15.10~ppa5 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/backports/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 4:5.4.3-0ubuntu0.1~ubuntu15.10~ppa1 0 500 http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-ppa/ppa/ubuntu/ wily/main amd64 Packages 4:5.4.2-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ wily/universe amd64 Packages
