When pressing ctrl-n in mail or contacts component, I'm told that this shortcut is ambiguous and I should go to settings-shortcuts to change it. But there is only one ctrl-n, so I can't resolve it. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. open mail component 2. press ctrl-n 3. Actual Results: error dialogue pop-up Expected Results: new mail window
This bug has never been confirmed for a Kontact version that is based on KDE Frameworks, except possibly a Technology Preview version 5.0.x. Those versions differ significantly from the old 4.x series. Therefore, I plan to close it in around two or three months. In the meantime, it is set to WAITINGFORINFO to give reporters the opportunity to check if it is still valid. As soon as someone confirms it for a recent version (at least 5.1, ideally even more recent), I'll gladly reopen it. Please understand that we lack the manpower to triage bugs reported for versions almost two years beyond their end of life.
Yes, it's still there. Kmail 5.5.2
Daniel fixed this recently in KMail part. but still happens in KAddressbook part.
I can confirm this behaviour for various Kubuntu releases (12.04, 16.04, 17.10) with and without Kubuntu backports PPA. Current package version of kontact is 4:17.04.3-0ubuntu1
This bug is still valid in 5.6.3 on Debian testing (17.08.3 bundle). Similar to bug #235224.
Fixed in kmail, but still present in addressbook plugin.
This is still present in Kontact 5.7.3 in Contacts and Popup Notes. KDE Frameworks 5.44.0 Qt 5.9.5 (built against 5.9.5) The xcb windowing system
