Hi, I am using a 19inch touchscreen with the kde 5 interface. Once the dashboard is displayed, you have to type twice to activate a button and once agin to select the function. The dashboard can not being used. may be related to Bug 352173
So if you tap twice it works as expected?
I can not tell that typing twice will work as expected. The behaviour is sporadic . I made a video : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B2bN5i_rCBsIVjF6WUNUM2FMUFU/view?usp=sharing Please advice if you need further informations like xev and so on .
It seems crazy, since the classic launcher works like a charm with touchscreen !
I have the same issue right now with the Application Dashboard. My touchscreen works for the panel, normal apps, etc. just fine. But the dashboard does not complete the click. When I tap, it selects the icon for a second and highlights it with the blue selection box. But them immediately closes the dashboard and does not launch the application. I've attached a video, you can see the mouse cursor jumping around where I register tap-clicks. This is always reproducible. This problem may be related to the touchschreen driver used. In any case, the only difference with a mouse will be the mouse emulation button timings . in my case, it is a penmount driver. please can you tell which one is your one ?

Also, I believe this bug was originally filed in the wrong area and may be the reason why it has languished. I believe it should be under kdeplasma-addons > Application Dashboard. I also found the following bug, filed after yours, but has a lot of other comments and information. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366527
bug ticket moved to kdeplasma-addons.
Likely duplicate of kde#366527 and thus closed fixed.
after fix for bug 366527 I can use dashboard without any problem with my laptop touch screen. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 366527 ***
