Description Johannes Falke 2015-03-24 20:37:33 UTC
My old printer works with the (automatically filled) URI of "cnijnet:/<mac_address>". Note the single slash.

Running KDE 4.14.6

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Attach Canon MG5250 printer to wireless network
2. Autodetect printer URI/Manually enter URI
3. Attempt to press 'Next'

Actual Results:
'Next' greyed out

Expected Results:
'Next' not greyed out, since it is a valid URI (or at least seems to me to be one, see additional info)

Adding another slash makes it validate, but then the printer does not work.

Manually adding the printer via:

sudo /usr/sbin/lpadmin -p canonmg5200_2 -P /usr/share/cups/model/canonmg5200.ppd -v cnijnet:/88-87-17-01-AA-32 -E

allowed me to finally add it.
