Description Jon 2014-12-22 02:20:19 UTC
Import folders should allow me to select a folder and have it and all contents added to the album, but it does not.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start software
2. Goto album view.
3. From import menu select "add folders"
4. Locate a folder.

Actual Results:
Anytime I select a folder and click open, it opens the folder instead of importing it.

Expected Results:
Selecting "open" should cause the folder and all subfolders to be added to the collection.

Same issue here.

Conversely, selecting Import>Add images - brings up image browser w. option for adding folder (ie "select folder") Clicking on that causes crash every time. (Windows v 4.11 installed)

To clarify --

Selecting "Import>Add Images" opens window w/ option to add entire folders ("Select Folder") clicking on that causes crash every time (for me, at least).

Selecting "Import>Add Folders" opens window w/ option to "open" a folder and then open individual or groups of images within which import without problem.

Reproducible in digikam5.0.0-beta6

I'm experiencing the same problem. I tried to import Images using "Add Folder", the folder opened.
Also recursively many sub folders kept on adding to that main folder, which caused digiKam to hang.
(I had to delete the album manually from my Pictures folder and restart.)

We need a fresh feedback on this file using this version.

Same problem than bug #441171 under MacOS. You need to use native file dialog option from Setup/Misc page.

Look my last comment : https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=441171#c6

I close this file now.
