Description S 2014-10-27 20:47:26 UTC
Hello,

I have Baloo search enabled, but Dolphin can't find substrings in filenames. For example "example_document_1.odt" is not found by searching for "document" in Dolphin. If I search for "example_doc" is does find it, however. This behavior conflicts with the documentation:
https://docs.kde.org/stable/en/applications/dolphin/quick-tips.html
"The search is case insensitive, and does not require surrounding wildcards (*foo* and foo are equivalent)"
Incidentally, using wildcards (*document*) also does not work.

Thanks for looking into this.

Reproducible: Always

Thanks for the bug report!

The filenamesearch ioslave checks if the filename contains the pattern.
I agree that other search ioslaves should do it as well.

I'll reassign it to Baloo.

With Plasma 5.1, Baloo searches through substrings with _ better.
