Description Sudhir Khanger 2014-10-11 18:16:25 UTC
Pictures in HTML are not shows as they should be but are attached to the email. I have set KMail to prefer html over plain text and allow external references. I have also tried attachments themes including smart and inline. They don't do anything.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Set it to prefer html
2. Check any html email
3.

Actual Results:
Pics are shown as blocked logo

Expected Results:
Show pics as pics where they were originally set be whoever sent the email

I am on Fedora 20 KDE with Frameworks 5.2 and Plasma 5.0.2.

I need real email for testing it.
You can send me it in private if you want.
Comment 7 Sudhir Khanger 2014-11-01 07:19:55 UTC
Laurent please see my email.
Comment 8 rdifra 2014-11-18 16:07:39 UTC
news about that problem?
thanks
Comment 9 Laurent Montel 2014-11-18 16:23:40 UTC
It's still on my todo.
I need to find time for it.
Comment 10 rdifra 2014-11-18 16:40:19 UTC
an other way to reproduce the error is to create a new mail with kmail, paste an image in the body and then send it to yourself.
a curious thing is if you ''reply' 'reply to all' or 'inline' the msg that you receive the images are shown.

thank you
regards

Message Screenshot from Kmail 4.13.3

This bug looks like a regression in the latest versions of Kontact. Please see the attached screenshot from Kontact 4.14.3 on Kubuntu 14.04 LTS. And there is no problems with it.
Comment 12 Martin Stockhammer 2015-10-05 12:12:04 UTC
Same here with kubuntu wily plasma 5.4
Comment 13 kde 2016-02-08 23:04:40 UTC
Hello,
Same problem here on Arch.
Comment 14 Torsten Bielen 2016-02-09 10:12:16 UTC
Same here opensuse 42.1 KMail 5.1.1.

1. Set prefer HTML over plain text
2. Allow HTML view for specific contact, and I allow to load external references for this contact.

=> pictures aren't displayed inline, only as attachments.
Comment 15 Martin Benz 2016-02-25 08:57:29 UTC
Same with Arch Linux / Kmail 5.1.2
Comment 16 Ezio Vergine 2016-02-25 16:24:24 UTC

Fresh installation of kubuntu 16.04, the same happens. HTML external images works actually, as described here
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362678
which was marked fixed before
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205791
Comment 21 Laurent Montel 2016-05-07 14:17:22 UTC
Verify in 5.2.0 it's fixed
